Believe in the STAR

Football season is underway, and my STAR team started the 2012 preseason with a victory.    Never mind that it may have been one of the least exciting games in the history of the preseason play–but c’mon,  it’s preseason.

Although veteran players participate in the early quarters, these games are essentially designed for the rookies to learn and become acclimated to the playing conditions they will experience during the official season.   But after last night’s performance,  both the coaching staff and team members acknowledged that if we intend to be NFC champion contenders,  we must get better.

Do you desire to get better in an area of your personal or professional life?   If so, there is a lesson that can be learned from the STAR:

You must be willing to make SACRIFICES.  Nothing worth having comes easily.  You must be disciplined enough to say ‘no’ to distractions and become laser focused on the reward.

You must be TENACIOUS in your pursuit.   Regardless of how difficult the task at hand seems, you must keep pressing toward the mark.   If you make a mistake, learn from it and try again.

You must trust in your ABILITY.     Every experience has prepared you for this opportunity.   You must be confident in your talents and boldly take the next step towards your goal.

You must RENOUNCE the negativity.   There will always be haters and naysayers and sometimes that includes self.    You must block out anyone or anything that is not contributing positive energy.

I’m looking forward to an exciting season following the team that dons that blue and silver STAR.  But I’m even more excited that now you have an opportunity to follow your own STAR to success!
